Terms of use
Last updated 2026-09-28
These terms apply to protogrid: the portal at protogrid.dev, the REST API and MCP server at api.protogrid.dev, and the documentation at docs.protogrid.dev. By using them you accept these terms.
Who runs protogrid
protogrid is run by Pedro Ibáñez Requena, tax id (NIF) 21679583J, Calle Jerez 254, Serra, Valencia, Spain. Contact: [email protected].
The service
protogrid mirrors the official MCP registry, probes public MCP servers without credentials, and publishes descriptors, connection blocks, trust and quality scores, tool-change history and dependency advisories. It is a registry: it does not proxy traffic to the servers it lists, does not hold your credentials and does not call their tools.
Listings about adult content or gambling are hidden from search and their pages answer as not found, unless an account was granted that category after a reviewed request, or owns the server. Only adults may request access, and only for lawful purposes.
Scores, labels and checks are derived from signals anyone can observe. They are not an audit, a security review or an endorsement, and a good score does not mean a server is safe. You decide which servers to connect to and remain responsible for what you connect your agents to.
Accounts and API keys
- Using protogrid needs no account. An account uses sign-in with GitHub and must belong to a real person or organization.
- Keep your API keys secret; you are responsible for requests made with them. The limits of each plan are shown on your account page and in the documentation.
- Claiming a server requires proving control of its namespace. Do not claim namespaces you do not control.
Acceptable use
- Stay within the rate limits and quotas, and do not try to get around them (for example with many accounts or addresses).
- Do not use the on-demand check or webhooks to probe, load or attack systems you are not allowed to test.
- Do not interfere with the service, try to reach its internal parts, or use it to break the law or anyone's rights.
We may limit, suspend or close access that breaks these rules or endangers the service or others.
Content and licenses
- Registry listings come from the official MCP registry and remain their publishers' statements. Tool names and descriptions are published by the servers themselves; we show them as observed and are not responsible for them.
- Dependency data comes from deps.dev and OSV.dev under CC BY 4.0. The "State of MCP servers" reports and their datasets are CC BY 4.0.
- The SDKs are open source under the MIT license. The rest of the service, including its code and the scores' presentation, belongs to protogrid.
Availability and liability
protogrid is provided free of charge, as is and as available, without warranties of any kind to the extent the law allows. We may change, limit or discontinue features at any time. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect damages or for losses arising from servers listed in the registry or from relying on scores and checks. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have as a consumer under the law.
Privacy
How we handle personal data is described in the privacy policy.
Changes and law
We may update these terms; the date below changes when we do, and continuing to use protogrid after a change means accepting it. These terms are governed by Spanish law. Questions: [email protected]. Last updated 2026-09-28.
