## Quality 85/100 (good)

### protocol: 75 (weight 25)

- warn `protocol.modern`: newest supported version is 2025-06-18; 2026-07-28 not supported, older versions are deprecated until 2027-07-28
- n/a `protocol.stateless`: only applies to 2026-07-28 servers
- pass `protocol.transport`: streamable HTTP
- n/a `protocol.list_ttl`: only applies to 2026-07-28 servers

### authorization: n/a (weight 15)

- n/a `auth.prm`, `auth.as_metadata`, `auth.cimd`: no remote uses OAuth
- n/a `auth.secret_in_url`: no templated URL

### tool hygiene: 86 (weight 30)

- pass `tools.descriptions`: every tool has a description
- pass `tools.description_length`: descriptions are concise
- pass `tools.schemas`: every tool has an object input schema
- pass `tools.annotations`: 5 of 5 tools declare readOnlyHint or destructiveHint
- fail `tools.directory_hints`: no tool declares all four of readOnlyHint, destructiveHint, idempotentHint and openWorldHint; missing: search_indices (destructiveHint, idempotentHint, openWorldHint); list_indices (destructiveHint, idempotentHint, openWorldHint); verify (destructiveHint, idempotentHint, openWorldHint); …
- pass `tools.token_cost`: about 800 tokens to load every tool
- pass `tools.api_dump`: tools are not a one-to-one API dump

### stability: n/a (weight 15)

- n/a `stability.changes`, `stability.rug_pull`: tool history recorded for 5 of the 7 days needed

### dependencies: 100 (weight 15)

- pass `deps.known_vulns`: no known advisory in 30 resolved packages
- pass `deps.mcp_sdk_version`: mcp 1.30.0, no known advisory
- pass `deps.resolvable`: flopsindex-mcp@0.12.5 resolved: 30 packages

- tools: 5, about 800 tokens to load them all
- tool set hash: ad1f3e6eaf9aa3ced446d9f97733f7e5
- tools last changed: 2026-10-14T22:16:59.579Z
- badge: [![protogrid quality](https://protogrid.dev/badge/io.github.zeroatflops/flopsindex-mcp.svg)](https://protogrid.dev/servers/io.github.zeroatflops/flopsindex-mcp)
- Checks run on what our credential-free, read-only probes observe; tools are never called and no code audit is performed.

### Tool changes

- 2026-10-14 `get_index` changed (title, annotations)
- 2026-10-14 `search_indices` changed (title, annotations)
- 2026-10-14 `get_price` changed (title, description, annotations)
  - before: Fetch the current published value for a FLOPS compute price index. Returns {value, unit, as_of, data_tier, confidence, verify_url, citation_url}. Cheapest way to answer 'what does X trade at right now?' Confidence is a label (HIGH or MED), never a numeric weight. Carries no methodology or source attribution by design — the anonymous surface does not enumerate the tiers or families it withholds.
  - after: Fetch the current published value for a FLOPS compute price index. Returns {value, unit, as_of, data_tier, confidence, verify_url, citation_url}. Cheapest way to answer 'what is the latest public reference price for X?' (refreshed every 6 hours). Confidence is a label (HIGH or MED), never a numeric weight. Carries no methodology or source attribution by design — the anonymous surface does not enumerate the tiers or families it withholds.
- 2026-10-14 `verify` changed (title, inputSchema, annotations)
- 2026-10-14 `list_indices` changed (title, annotations)

## Tools (5)

- `get_index`: Resolve a FLOPS index to its source-opaque PUBLIC citation payload. Returns exactly {index_id, value, unit, as_of, data_tier, confidence, methodology_url, verify_url, citation_url, permalink} — no source-level detail. Prefer get_index when you intend to CITE the value.
- `get_price`: Fetch the current published value for a FLOPS compute price index.
- `list_indices`: List all public FLOPS compute-price indices. Returns {count, indices[]} where each row is {index_id, family, value, unit, as_of, confidence, change_24h, delayed}. Use this to discover available indices before calling get_price or verify. No auth required.
- `search_indices`: Resolve a free-text query to canonical FLOPS index slugs. Use when you don't know the exact slug — e.g. 'H100 spot' returns the matching SPOT family entries. Best paired with get_price to look up + quote a value in one turn.
- `verify`: Check a FLOPS index value against the published index. Pass `value` with a number you are about to cite (or already hold) and the response tells you whether it is right: `verified` true/false, `expected` (what you submitted), `actual_value` (what FLOPS publishes) and `delta_pct`. Omit `value` to simply look up the current published value — then `verified` is null, which means 'not checked', NOT 'correct'. Without an API key you are checked against the public value, which is rounded to 2 decimals and delayed onto a 6-hour grid, so a full-precision real-time number will not match anonymously. No source list or source-count is exposed.
