### Tool changes

- 2026-09-27 `explain_no_exact_match` removed
  - Explain why a nearby product should not be presented as an exact match for the buyer's spec, then return safe next actions and a quote-request URL.
- 2026-09-27 `pack_calculator` removed
  - Exploration tool for item dimensions and weight. Calculates required inside dimensions, ranks Packrift box/mailer candidates, and gives void-fill guidance before live price/inventory confirmation.
- 2026-09-27 `compare_alternatives` removed
  - Exploration tool for buyers comparing a packaging spec, competitor-style item, or catalog-number request against Packrift's curated catalog. Returns ranked Packrift candidates plus a plain-language comparison summary.
- 2026-09-27 `prepare_purchase_handoff` removed
  - Two-step exact-SKU purchase prep. Call first with sku, quantity, and buyer_confirmed=false to confirm the product, live price, and live stock in one call. After the buyer approves, call again with buyer_confirmed=true to receive the tracked checkout handoff URL. It never places an order.
- 2026-09-27 `check_inventory` removed
  - Use to confirm stock before recommending a SKU or building a cart. Required argument: variant_ids as an array of numeric Shopify variant IDs encoded as strings, for example ["53475949216112"]. Never send variant_ids as numbers. Live, never cached.
- 2026-09-27 `get_pricing` removed
  - Use to confirm live base catalog unit price and merchandise line total before cart handoff. Cart discounts, shipping and tax are not evaluated; the buyer's Shopify cart and checkout determine the final payable amount. Required argument: variant_ids as an array of numeric Shopify variant IDs encoded as strings, for example ["53475949216112"]. Optional quantity defaults to 1. Never send variant_ids as numbers. Never cached.
- 2026-09-27 `get_cart_handoff_candidates` removed
  - Returns curated Packrift SKUs that are ready for cart handoff, including create_cart_url arguments, SKU records, product/reorder/quote links, and the required live-confirmation sequence.
- 2026-09-27 `inventory_status` removed
  - Live inventory exploration for one or more catalog variants. Returns total quantity, available-for-sale state, warehouse-level quantities where available, and a plain-language fulfillment summary.
- 2026-09-27 `get_reorder_link` removed
  - Return the reorder URL, product URL, and a copyable procurement spec for one catalog SKU or handle. Use for repeat-buy and procurement handoff workflows.
- 2026-09-27 `get_bulk_quote_link` changed (title, description, inputSchema, outputSchema, annotations) **meaning changed**
  - before: Return a quote-request URL for an exact packaging spec or SKU. Use when no exact match exists or the buyer needs bulk or procurement review.
  - after: Get a pre-filled quote request link for pallet or recurring quantities, custom sizes, printed or branded packaging, freight orders, or any spec Packrift does not stock exactly. Put everything the buyer told you in the fields: the spec, quantity, delivery ZIP and need-by date travel with the request. The buyer adds their email and submits the form on packrift.com; Packrift replies by email with pricing. Returns the link and what the buyer still needs to add.

## Tools (6)

- `create_cart_url`: Create a checkout link on packrift.com for items the buyer has chosen. Give each item as SKU and quantity (number of packs); up to 25 lines. The link opens packrift.com checkout with those items and automatic volume discounts applied; the buyer adds their address and pays there. Returns the subtotal after volume discounts. This tool never places an order or charges anyone. Call it only after the buyer confirms the items and quantities.
- `find_packaging_for_item`: Find the right Packrift box or mailer for an item the buyer ships. Give the item's length, width and height in inches, its weight, and what it is (for example "ceramic mug", "t-shirt", "hardcover book", "laptop"). Applies cushioning space by item type (2 in per side for fragile items), checks box strength against the weight, and compares billable shipping weight (UPS/FedEx and USPS dimensional weight). Returns up to 5 in-stock options with inside size, fit, strength, live price and a product link. Use search_products instead when the buyer already knows the packaging size they want.
- `get_bulk_quote_link`: Get a pre-filled quote request link for pallet or recurring quantities, custom sizes, printed or branded packaging, freight orders, or any spec Packrift does not stock exactly. Put everything the buyer told you in the fields: the spec, quantity, delivery ZIP and need-by date travel with the request. The buyer adds their email and submits the form on packrift.com; Packrift replies by email with pricing. Returns the link and what the buyer still needs to add.
- `get_product`: Get one Packrift product by SKU (or product handle): specs such as inside size, material, strength and pack count, live price and price per unit, stock, whether a quantity can ship now, volume pricing, nearby sizes and the product link. Use after search_products or find_packaging_for_item when the buyer wants more detail before choosing.
- `get_shipping_estimate`: Estimate the delivered cost of a Packrift order to a US ZIP code, using the same shipping rates and automatic volume discounts as Packrift checkout. Give the items as SKU and quantity (number of packs). Returns the subtotal after discounts, the shipping charge (free only when the order qualifies), the delivered total and the delivered cost per unit. Tax is not included; checkout shows the final amount. Not for carrier rate shopping or postage.
- `search_products`: Search Packrift's in-stock packaging catalog: corrugated shipping boxes, mailer boxes, poly and bubble mailers, poly bags, labels, packing tape, stretch film and void fill. The query can be a product type, an exact size or spec ("12x12x12 ECT-32 box", "10x13 poly mailer", "3 inch packing tape"), or a Packrift SKU. Returns up to 10 matches with live price, pack size, price per unit, stock and a product link. A different size is never labeled exact; when nothing matches exactly it returns the closest sizes marked as not exact and a quote link. If the buyer describes the item they are shipping rather than the packaging they want, use find_packaging_for_item instead.
