# protogrid for MCP server owners

> Know when your MCP server breaks, before your users do. Claim it on protogrid: hourly probes, alerts the moment a tool changes or a check fails, and the owner verified mark agents can filter on. Free.

Claim your servers: https://protogrid.dev/auth/login?next=/account/servers (GitHub sign-in).

## What an owner gets

- Owner verified: a public mark on the server page, in the descriptor and in every search result; agents can ask for verified owners only. Never an audit, never a ranking boost.
- Hourly probes for 3 servers on the free plan (instead of every 6 hours), and "probe now" once a day.
- Email alerts: tool definitions changed (meaning changes highlighted), a check turning fail, unreachable for 2 hours, a 10-point score drop, recoveries. One digest a day at most, one-click unsubscribe.
- Dependency advisories: npm and PyPI dependencies re-checked daily, new advisories reported the same day.
- Signed webhooks to up to 3 endpoints, with the same events.
- The README badge with the live score and the verified mark.

## From first check to always watched

1. Check it: https://protogrid.dev/check (no account).
2. Gate it in CI with the GitHub Action: https://docs.protogrid.dev/guides/check-in-ci/
3. Claim and monitor it: https://docs.protogrid.dev/guides/claim-your-server/

## Questions

### How do I prove I own a server?

Sign in with GitHub for io.github.your-login servers, or add a DNS TXT record for your domain. Every server under that namespace is claimed at once, new ones too.

### Does owner verified raise my score?

No. It is never a ranking boost and never an audit. It tells agents a real owner stands behind the listing, and they can filter on it.

### Will you email me too often?

One digest at most per day, each server at most once, and a one-click unsubscribe in every email.

### Do you need access to my server?

No. We probe the public endpoint like any client would, without credentials, and never call your tools.

### What if I publish more than 3 servers?

Claim them all; 3 are monitored hourly on the free plan and the rest keep the regular 6-hour probe. A plan with more monitored servers is on the way: [tell us what you need](mailto:hello@protogrid.dev?subject=More%20monitored%20servers).
